Strengthening International Ties

Building on Hawai`i's ties to China, Governor Lingle met with Madam Li Xiaolin, vice president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC).

The Governor and Madam Li discussed the importance of developing relationships between countries on all levels of society, as well as the possibility of exchange programs for students from the United States and China.

Madam Li has been coordinating travel for Chinese student groups to attend Brigham Young University - Hawai`i for short term programs and invited Governor Lingle to speak at a future session.
