GOVERNOR’S WEST HAWAI`I ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO MEET ON AUGUST 13

HONOLULU – The Governor’s West Hawai`i Advisory Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m., on Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at the Kahakai Elementary School Cafeteria, 76-147 Royal Poinciana Drive, officials announced today.

Governor Linda Lingle created advisory committees to give the neighbor islands a stronger voice in state government.  The West Hawai`i Advisory Committee holds monthly public meetings to seek community input and advise the Governor of important issues, budget priorities, and recommendations for state boards and commissions.  The committee’s first meeting was held last month.

The members of the Governor’s West Hawai`i Advisory Committee are Beverly Byouk, Glenda Bacon Carter, Jason Ikaika Hauanio, Dr. Daryl Kurozawa, Joanne Ralston, John Ray, Sharon L. Sakai, Shirley Spencer, and Rick Vidgen.
