GOVERNOR LINGLE ADDS “TALK STORY” FOR WAI`ANAE-NANAKULI COMMUNITIES
For Immediate Release: October 1, 2003
HONOLULU – Responding to community requests from Leeward Coast residents, Governor Linda Lingle has added a “Talk Story” session for residents from Wai`anae to Nanakuli. The new “Talk Story” will take place on Tuesday, November 4, 5:30 – 8:00 p.m., at the Wai`anae High School cafeteria.
This will be Governor Lingle’s 15th “Talk Story” and the final session in the Governor’s and Lt. Governor’s 28-series community gatherings, which the two top state leaders have been holding on all six islands over the past three months.
Governor Lingle initiated the “Talk Stories” to provide residents the opportunity to express their concerns and offer recommendations on key statewide and local issues. During the sessions, the Governor also updates residents on what her administration is doing in specific communities as well as on a statewide level.
“Getting out into the communities allows my administration to hear directly from residents what they’re most concerned about, whether it’s traffic, land use, education or jobs creation,” said Governor Lingle. “The dialogue taking place during the ‘Talk Stories’ is invaluable to me and our department heads in understanding how we can better provide government services to all the people of Hawai`i.”
