GOVERNOR’S MAUI ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO MEET ON OCTOBER 10

For Immediate Release:  October 9, 2003

HONOLULU – The Governor’s Maui Advisory Committee will meet at 4:00 p.m., on Friday, October 10, 2003, at the Maui Community College, Ka`a`ike Building, Room 105C&D.  The meeting will include a videoconference link to the Maui Community College Hana Education Center, Hana Community Center, 5101 Uakea Room 12.  The videoconference link is a cost-effective way for the Advisory Committee to solicit public input from different parts of the island.  The public is invited to attend at either location.

Governor Linda Lingle created advisory committees to give the neighbor islands a stronger voice in state government.  The Maui Advisory Committee holds monthly public meetings to seek community input and advise the Governor of important issues, budget priorities, and recommendations for state boards and commissions.

The members of the Governor’s Maui Advisory Committee are Jonathan Berliner, Diane Ho, Ezekiela Kalua, Carl Lindquist, Star Marie Fernandez Patterson, Grelyn Rosario, Madge Shaefer, Jan Shishido, and Kalei Sombelon.

Any disabled person requiring accommodations to participate at this meeting may call 243-5798 for assistance.
