GOVERNOR LINGLE APPOINTS J. WILLIAM SANBORN TO WEST HAWAI`I ADVISORY COMMITTEE

For Immediate Release October 8, 2003

HONOLULU – Governor Linda Lingle has appointed J. William Sanborn to serve on the West Hawai`i Advisory Committee.  Sanborn will replace Glenda Carter Bacon who resigned because she moved to Maui.

Sanborn has been in the mortgage and real estate field since 1971 and is currently employed by HomeStreet Bank.  He was born in Honolulu, but his family is from Hanalei, Kaua`i and Waimea, Hawai`i.  He is a graduate of Punahou School in Honolulu and Pacific Lutheran University.

“Bill will be a great addition to our West Hawai`i Advisory Committee.  He is committed to his community and to giving the people a stronger voice in state government,” said Governor Lingle. “I’m pleased that Bill and the other members are making this commitment to help improve government services for residents across our state,” added the Governor.

The committee is made up of nine members and the Governor’s West Hawai`i Liaison, who serves as a non-voting, ex-officio member.
