GOVERNOR'S MAUI ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO MEET ON MARCH 16TH

WAILUKU, HAWAI`I – The Governor’s Maui Advisory Committee will meet on Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at 4:00 p.m., at the Cameron Center auditorium, 95 Mahalani Street.  The public is invited to attend.

The March meeting will cover unfinished business concerning the four-year university on Maui and questions pertaining to the Americans with Disabilities Act.  Testimonies will also be received on follow-up reports on the following subjects: Act 221, Akaku, and the creation of a bipartisan board.

Governor Linda Lingle created advisory committees to give the neighbor islands a stronger voice in state government.  The Maui Advisory Committee holds monthly public meetings to seek community input and advise the Governor of important issues, budget priorities, and recommendations for state boards and commissions.

The members of the Governor’s Maui Advisory Committee are Jonathon Berliner, Diane Ho, Ezekiela Kalua, Carl Lindquist, Star Marie Fernandez Patterson, Grelyn Rosario, Madge Schaefer, Jan Shishido, and Kalei Sombelon.
