GOVERNOR’S MAUI ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO MEET ON APRIL 22ND

WAILUKU, HAWAI`I – The Governor’s Maui Advisory Committee will meet at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, April 22, 2004, at the Cameron Center conference rooms 1 & 2, 95 Mahalani Street. The public is invited to attend.
The April meeting will cover unfinished business concerning Act 221 and Paia Bypass. Testimony will also be received on follow-up reports on the following subjects: creation of a bipartisan board, Akaku, Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR), and federal budget cut concerns.
Governor Linda Lingle created advisory committees to give the Neighbor Islands a stronger voice in state government. The Maui Advisory Committee holds monthly public meetings to seek community input and advise the Governor of important issues, budget priorities, and recommendations for state boards and commissions.
The members of the Governor’s Maui Advisory Committee are Diane Ho, Ezekiela Kalua, Carl Lindquist, Star Marie Fernandez Patterson, Grelyn Rosario, Madge Schaefer, Jan Shishido, and Kalei Sombelon. The newest member to serve on the committee is Jo-Ann Ridao, who replaces outgoing member Jonathon Berliner.
