GOVERNOR LINGLE RELEASES $200,000 FOR IMPROVEMENTS AT ALOHA STADIUM

HONOLULU – Governor Lingle has released $200,000 to install network cabling and transmission hardware for Aloha Stadium.

Currently, the Aloha Stadium’s computer systems, which are located in the north end zone, are not connected to administrative offices and systems in the south end zone.  The new cabling and transmission hardware will provide email capability and Internet access throughout the stadium.  Equally important, it will enable the satellite box offices, the ticketing, scoreboard, maintenance, general services, and security operations to interoperate over the primary network system at Aloha Stadium.  This will improve operational efficiency and allow all box offices to sell reserved seating tickets.

"These improvements and upgrades are a worthy investment, as they will ensure that the Aloha Stadium can better accomodate future games," said Governor Lingle.  "This is important as more companies consider utilizing the Stadium, which ultimately promotes tourism to Hawai`i."

The total project cost is $200,000 and is expected to be completed by the start of the University of Hawai`i football season.
