GOVERNOR’S MOLOKA`I COUNCIL OF ADVISORS TO MEET ON JAN. 10

HONOLULU – The Governor’s Moloka`i Council of Advisors will meet at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 10, at the Kulana O`iwi, Department of Hawaiian Homelands / Office of Hawaiian Affairs Conference Room, 600 Maunaloa Highway, Kaunakakai.  The public is invited to attend.

Keith Fujio, Administrative Services Officer, for the Hawai`i Public Library Systems, will address the council on plans for the expansion of the Moloka`i Public Library.  At the Nov. 8, 2005 council meeting, a community request was made for information and support from the council for library improvements.

Governor Linda Lingle created councils of advisors to give the neighbor islands a stronger voice in state government. The Moloka`i Council of Advisors holds monthly public meetings to seek community input and advise the Governor of important issues, public priorities, and recommendations for state boards and commissions.

The members of the Governor’s Moloka`i Council of Advisors are Robert Granger, Sue Ann Hasegawa, Janice Kalanihuia, Jersula Manaba, Steven Nawahine, Marlene Purdy and Charlotte Seales.
