GOVERNOR’S MAUI COUNCIL OF ADVISORS TO MEET ON JAN. 19

WAILUKU – The Governor’s Maui Council of Advisors will meet at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006, at the Cameron Center, Auditorium, located at 95 Mahalani Street, Wailuku. The public is invited to attend.
Charlene Shibuya, Assistant District Engineer, for the State Highways Maui District, will give an update on the Paia Sidewalks, status of the Paia Mini By-Pass, and the status of the Paia Permanent By-Pass.
Governor Linda Lingle created Council of Advisors to give the neighbor islands a stronger voice in state government. The Maui Council of Advisors holds monthly public meetings to seek community input and advise the Governor of important issues, budget priorities, and recommendations for State Boards and Commissions.
The members of the Governor’s Maui Council of Advisors are: John Henry, Diane Ho, Ezekiela Kalua (vice-chair), Carl Lindquist, Madge Schaefer (chair), Jan Shishido, Kalei Sombelon, and Shan Steinmark .
