GOVERNOR LINGLE RELEASES $575,000 FOR NEW CLASSROOM BUILDING AT CAMPBELL HIGH SCHOOL

HONOLULU – Governor Linda Lingle has released $575,000 in design funds for a new eight-classroom building at Campbell High School.
The project involves one chemistry classroom, one biology classroom, one special education classrooms, five general education classrooms, one student services coordinator/educational assistance room, one faculty center, student restrooms, general utility closet, and mechanical/electrical/communication rooms.
The school’s current enrollment of 2,009 is anticipated to increase to 2,225 by 2009.
“This new building will help meet the future demands of enrollment growth and education program needs, and provide adequate classroom facilities for students and teachers,” said Governor Lingle.
This project is priority number 17 of 30 in the Department of Education’s Capital Improvement Project Implementation Plan.
Subsequent to the final design, Governor Lingle is proposing an additional $6,694,000 for the construction of this new eight-classroom building.
