GOVERNOR LINGLE RELEASES $765,000 FOR BALDWIN HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY ON MAUI
For Immediate Release: February 3, 2006
HONOLULU – Governor Linda Lingle has released $765,000 for the design of a new or expanded library building at Baldwin High School on Maui.
A portion of the funds will be used to determine the feasibility of expanding the existing library space or constructing a separate, new facility. The remaining funds will be used to design the library.
This project will provide more library space, while updating the library’s technological infrastructure to accommodate necessary computer and equipment needs.
“This project will greatly benefit our students and faculty at Baldwin High School by giving them an upgraded library and conducive learning environment to pursue their studies and research,” said Governor Lingle, who visited the library last October and met with the staff to discuss the expansion plans.
This project is priority number 18 of 30 in DOE’s Revised CIP Implementation Plan. The total project cost is $10,290,000. The design is expected to be completed by October 2006.
