GOVERNOR’S MOLOKA`I COUNCIL OF ADVISORS TO MEET ON FEB. 16

HONOLULU – The Governor’s Moloka`i Council of Advisors will meet on Thursday, Feb. 16, 4:00 p.m., at the Hale Mahaolu – Home Pumehana Conference Room, 290 Kolapa Place, Kaunakakai.  The public is invited to attend.

Clyde Sonobe, Cable Television Division Administrator, Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA), will address the council and public to obtain input and comments on issues relating to public access television services.   The present Public, Education and Government organization contracts expire on June 30, 2006.  DCCA is seeking public comments in respective counties: Akaku (Maui), Ho`ike (Kaua`i), Na Leo (Hawai`i), and `Olelo (O’ahu).

Governor Linda Lingle created Councils of Advisors to give the neighbor islands a stronger voice in state government. The Moloka`i Council of Advisors holds monthly public meetings to seek community input and advise the Governor of important issues, public priorities, and recommendations for state boards and commissions.

The members of the Governor’s Moloka`i Council of Advisors are Robert Granger, Sue Ann Hasegawa, Janice Kalanihuia, Jersula Manaba, Marlene Purdy and Charlotte Seales.
