GOVERNOR’S WEST HAWAI`I COUNCIL OF ADVISORS TO MEET ON FEB. 22

KAILUA-KONA – The Governor’s West Hawai`i Council of Advisors will hold its monthly public meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 5:30 p.m. in the Mayor’s Conference Room at 75-5706 Kuakini Hwy., Suite 103, in Kailua-Kona.

This month’s guest speaker will be Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) Chairman Peter Young.  The Chairman will inform the Council of DLNR’s legislative initiatives and provide updates on issues as they relate to West Hawai`i.

“The Governor encourages the community to attend and share any concerns they may have regarding state government,” said J. William Sanborn, chairman of the West Hawai`i Council of Advisors. 

The Council of Advisors is tasked with providing the Governor with a list of short- and long-term issues and goals that should be addressed by state government.  The Council is also responsible for identifying spending priorities and potential new sources of revenue for the state, as well as recommending potential nominees from the neighbor islands to serve on state boards and commissions.
