GOVERNOR LINGLE RELEASES $300,000 TO KONA COMMUNITY HOSPITAL

For Immediate Release:  February 15, 2006


HONOLULU – Governor Linda Lingle has released $300,000 for roof repairs at the Kona Community Hospital on the Big Island.

This project involves the roof repair of portions of the main hospital building.

“This project is critical to maintaining the Kona Community Hospital, and ensuring the health and safety of patients and staff,” said Governor Lingle.  “It is part of our ongoing commitment to promote a healthier Hawai`i.”

Kona Community Hospital Chief Executive Officer Jerry Walker added, “The hospital medical staff and employees truly appreciate this support in helping Kona Community Hospital address its aging facility challenges.”

The repairs are expected to be completed by August 2006.
