GOVERNOR LINGLE RELEASES $1,060,000 FOR MAUI MEMORIAL MEDICAL CENTER & KULA HOSPITAL

For Immediate Release:  March 2, 2006

 

HONOLULU – Governor Linda Lingle has released $1,060,000 for improvements to state hospitals on Maui: $750,000 to Maui Memorial Medical Center for roof repairs, and $310,000 to Kula Hospital for various upgrades.

Maui Memorial Medical Center ($750,000)
This project will replace aging roofs, including the emergency room, business office, cottages, lanai walkways, courtyard, and Molokini I facility.

Kula Hospital ($310,000)
This project consists of $280,000 for accessibility improvements recommended by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and $30,000 to repair the damaged roof of the maintenance facility.

“These improvements at Maui Memorial and Kula Hospital will keep our Maui hospitals in top condition to provide quality healthcare to patients,” said Governor Lingle.  “It is part of our ongoing commitment to promote a healthier Hawai`i.”
