GOVERNOR LINGLE RELEASES $1,580,000 FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO WAIMEA HIGH SCHOOL ON KAUA`I

HONOLULU – Governor Linda Lingle has released $1,580,000 in design and construction funds for improvements at Waimea High School on Kaua‘i to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines.
This project is in addition to the $1.8 billion public infrastructure construction plan unveiled by Governor Lingle in December 2008 to stimulate the economy and create jobs.
Project work includes the design and construction of ramps, elevators or chairlifts to access second floor facilities, as well as other corrective measures to ensure that the campus is fully accessible to students and visitors.
Governor Lingle previously released $710,841 in design and construction funds for this project.
Design is ongoing and scheduled to be completed in June 2009. Construction is scheduled to begin in September 2009 and be completed in August 2010.
