GOVERNOR LINGLE RELEASES $863,800 FOR REPAIRS TO HAWAI`I STATE HOSPITAL

HONOLULU – Governor Linda Lingle has released $863,800 for two projects to repair the Hawai‘i State Hospital’s ventilation and air-conditioning equipment and hot water system.
These projects are part of the $1.87 billion, public infrastructure construction plan unveiled by Governor Lingle in December to stimulate the economy and create jobs. Progress of all 1,521 projects belonging to the plan can be tracked on the Governor’s website at www.hawaii.gov/cip.
$561,400 in construction funds will be used to upgrade and/or replace ventilation and air-conditioning equipment in Hawai‘i State Hospital buildings A, C, E, F, G, H, I and L. Governor previously released $42,600 for the project’s design. Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2009 and be completed in July 2009.
$302,400 will cover the construction of improvements to the hospital’s hot water system in buildings E, F, H and I. Governor previously released $37,540 for the project’s design. Construction is scheduled to begin this month and be completed in July 2009.
The Hawai‘i State Hospital, located in Kāne‘ohe, provides mental health care services to more than 350 patients annually under the supervision of the Department of Health’s Adult Mental Health Division.
