GOVERNOR'S LANA`I COUNCIL OF ADVISORS TO FOCUS ON BOATING AND OCEAN RECREATION

HONOLULU – The Governor’s Lana`i Council of Advisors will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 5:00 p.m. at the Lana`i Senior Center, 309 Seventh Street, in Lana`i City. The public is invited to attend.
Ed Underwood, administrator of Boating and Ocean Recreation Division, Department of Land and Natural Resources, will update the community on the State’s efforts to enhance ocean recreation activities and facilities on Lana`i and around the state.
Governor Linda Lingle created councils of advisors to give the neighbor islands a stronger voice in state government. The Lana`i Council of Advisors holds monthly public meetings to seek community input and advise the Governor of important issues, public priorities, and recommendations for state boards and commissions.
The members of the Governor’s Lana`i Council of Advisors are Cindy Arruiza, John dela Cruz, Matthew Mano, Douglas Rolefson and Nani Watanabe.
