GOVERNOR’S MAUI COUNCIL OF ADVISORS TO MEET ON JANUARY 29

HONOLULU – Governor Linda Lingle will address members of her Maui Council of Advisors at their monthly meeting on Monday, January 29, 2007, at the Maui Economic Opportunity Family Center Classroom, 99 Mahalani Street, Wailuku. The public is invited to attend.
The Governor will outline her priorities for the legislative session, provide details on key initiatives to increase the standard of living for Hawai‘i residents and update members on the Hawai’i Innovation Initiative. Question and answer period will follow.
Governor Lingle created Council of Advisors to give the neighbor islands a stronger voice in state government. The Maui Council of Advisors holds monthly public meetings to seek community input and advise the Governor of important issues, budget priorities, and recommendations for State Boards and Commissions.
The members of the Governor’s Maui Council of Advisors recently appointed by the Governor are: John Henry, Barbara-Ann Keller, Carl Lindquist, Lori Ululani Sablas, Madge Schaefer (council chair), Jan Shishido, Kalei Sombelon, and Shan Steinmark.
