GOVERNOR'S MAUI COUNCIL OF ADVISORS TO MEET ON MARCH 15

WAILUKU – The Governor’s Maui Council of Advisors will meet on Thursday,
March 15, 5:00 p.m. at the Cameron Center, Auditorium, located at 95
Mahalani Street, Wailuku. The public is invited to attend.
Whitney White, President of Interquest Detection Canines of Hawai‘i, will make a presentation on a pilot program at three Maui District schools (Kalama Intermediate, Lahaina Intermediate and Lahainaluna High) using trained dogs on campus to sniff out drugs, alcohol and firearms.
Governor Linda Lingle created councils of advisors to give the neighbor islands a stronger voice in state government. The Maui Council of Advisors holds monthly public meetings to seek community input and advise the Governor of important issues, budget priorities, and recommendations for state boards and commissions.
The members of the Governor’s Maui Council of Advisors are: John Henry, Barbara-Ann Keller, Carl Lindquist, Lori Ululani Sablas, Madge Schaefer (chair), Jan Shishido, Kalei Sombelon, and Shan Steinmark.
