STATE CIVIL DEFENSE VICE DIRECTOR ED TEIXEIRA TO ADDRESS GOVERNOR'S WEST HAWAI`I COUNCIL OF ADVISORS ON DISASTER PREPAREDNESS AND STATE EMERGENCY RESPONSE PROCEDURES

KONA – The Governor’s West Hawai‘i Council of Advisors will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, March 14, 5:30 p.m., at the Ocean View Community Association Center, 92-8924 Leilani Circle, in Ocean View.
The Council’s guest speaker will be State Civil Vice Defense Director Ed Teixeira, who will address disaster preparedness and state emergency response procedures.
The neighbor island councils of advisors are tasked with providing the Governor a list of short- and long-term issues and goals that should be addressed by state government. The councils also identify spending priorities and potential new sources of revenue for the state, as well as recommend potential nominees from the neighbor islands to serve on state boards and commissions.
Members of the Governor’s West Hawai‘i Council of Advisors are Beverly Byouk, Ocean View; Joanne Ralston, Kapaau; John Ray and J. William Sanborn, Waimea; Douglas Carr, Waikoloa; and Rick Vidgen, Lei Kihoi, Elaine Watai, and Estela Halverson of Kona.
