GOVERNOR LINGLE ORDERS STATE FLAGS TO FLY AT HALF-STAFF IN HONOR OF PEACE OFFICERS MEMORIAL DAY

HONOLULU – Governor Linda Lingle has proclaimed May 15, 2007 as “Peace Officers Memorial Day” in Hawai‘i and has ordered state flags at state and county buildings to be flown at half-staff on this day. The Governor’s order is in conjunction with President George W. Bush’s order that all U.S. flags be flown at half-staff on May 15 to honor the nation’s law enforcement officers. The Governor also declared May 13 through 19, 2007, as “Police Week.”
