Governor Lingle's Public Schedule
July 4, Governor Lingle and Lt. Governor Aiona will celebrate our nation’s independence at the 63rd annual Kailua 4th of July Parade.
July 4, Governor Lingle will greet Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou as he arrives in Hawai`i for a stopover on his return to Taiwan.
July 5, Governor Lingle will have a private breakfast with Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou. In the afternoon, she will attend a reception for President Ma hosted by the Overseas Chinese in Hawai`i. In the evening, the Governor will see President Ma off as he departs Hawai`i and returns to Taiwan.
July 6, Governor Lingle will tour the Magoon Research Station on the University of Hawai`i at Mānoa campus, where she will present a proclamation declaring July 5-11, 2009 as "Hawai`i Aquaculture Week." The tour will highlight the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources' newly renovated Magoon Research Station and feature a special aquaculture and aquaponics display.
July 8, Governor Lingle will participate in the retirement ceremony for Major General Vern Miyagi, who is retiring from his position as the mobilization assistant to the commander, United States Pacific Command (USPACOM). Major General Miyagi has served in the Hawai`i Army National Guard for 28 years.
July 9, Governor Lingle will deliver the keynote address at the Kaua`i Chamber of Commerce 2009 Annual Governor's Luncheon. The Governor will update Kaua`i Chamber members on the Administration’s efforts to address the state's fiscal and economic challenges, including creating jobs, investing in capital improvement projects and focusing on Hawai`i's long-term economic future.
July 11, Governor Lingle will attend the 8th Annual Korean Festival.
