Public Schedule for the Week of August 17-21, 2009

August 19, Governor Lingle will participate in the groundbreaking for Seagull Schools' new childcare facility at Ko Olina. 

August 19, The Governor will meet with former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman, the new U.S. Ambassador to China.

August 19, Governor Lingle will meet with Ray Mabus, United States Secretary of the Navy.

August 20, Governor Lingle will participate in the kick-off event for the State's fund-raising campaign for Aloha United Way (AUW).  The State's goal is to raise $505,000 in donations from employees of the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches to help improve lives and build a stronger and healthier community.

August 21, HOLIDAY – ADMISSION DAY

August 21, Governor Lingle will deliver remarks at the Hawai`i Statehood Conference.  This one-day conference, titled "New Horizons for the Next 50 Years," culminates a year-long commemoration of Hawai`i's 50th anniversary of statehood.  The event will bring together Hawai`i citizens representing different industries and interests, to reflect on the accomplishments Hawai`i has achieved since becoming a state, while exploring the vision for Hawai`i's next 50 years.  Additional information and online registration can be found at: www.hawaiistatehoodconference.com.
