July 28, Governor Lingle will meet with Gen. Carrol "Howie" Chandler, outgoing commander of Pacific Air Forces. Gen. Chandler, who has been at Hickam since November 2007, will become the Air Force's vice chief of staff at the Pentagon.
July 30, Governor Lingle will participate in the blessing and grand opening of the Villas at A`eloa, a 72-unit affordable rental project in the Villages of Kapolei. The project was developed by a public-private partnership that included the state Hawai`i Housing Finance Development Corporation (HHFDC), the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the City and County of Honolulu and Pacific Housing Assistance Corporation.
July 1, Governor Lingle will deliver remarks at the 219th Coast Guard Birthday Ball and pay tribute to the men and women who ensure safety in our oceans and along our coastlines, protect the marine environment, enforce maritime law, manage our waterways and enhance the United States' economic and security interests.
