March 16, The Governor will welcome members of the Dead Reckoning Band to the State Capitol. The band members and their manager are soldiers from the 556th Signal Company, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team “Warrior” out of Schofield Barracks.
March 16, Governor Lingle, county mayors and State Transportation Director Brennon Morioka will discuss the state and county transportation infrastructure projects that will be funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Watch it live on the Governor's website at 2:30 p.m. HST.
March 16, Governor Lingle will discuss state issues in her afternoon drive-time radio show with host Mike Buck from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. HST. The show can be heard live statewide: Hilo (The Beach, KTBH 102.1 FM), Maui (KAOI 1110 AM), Kaua`i (KQNG 570 AM), and O`ahu (KHVH 830 AM), as well as on the Governor's Web site www.hawaii.gov/gov.
March 16, Governor Lingle will deliver remarks at the Second Bilateral Meeting of the U.S.-China Committee for Electricity from Renewables.
March 17, Governor Lingle and energy industry officials will provide an update on the progress of the Hawai`i Clean Energy Initiative, an unprecedented partnership formed one year ago between the State of Hawai`i and the U.S. Department of Energy to work toward having 70 percent of Hawai`i's energy come from clean sources by the year 2030. March 18, The Governor will deliver remarks during a joint session of the Hawai`i State Legislature to commemorate the date 50 years ago on March 18, 1959, when President Dwight Eisenhower signed into law the bill that allowed Hawai`i to be admitted as the 50th state of the United States of America. The event will be webcast live at: www.hawaii.gov/statehood.
March 21, Governor Lingle and Human Services Deputy Director Henry Oliva will participate in the grand opening of the Ho`omalu O Na Kamali`i Foster Children Receiving Home in Wai`anae.
