May 11, Governor Lingle will participate in the swearing-in ceremony for Mark Recktenwald, who was appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the State Senate to serve as an associate justice of the Hawai`i Supreme Court.
May 11, Governor Lingle will discuss state issues in her afternoon drive-time radio show with host Mike Buck from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. HST. The show can be heard live statewide: Hilo (The Beach, KTBH 102.1 FM), Maui (KAOI 1110 AM), Kaua`i (KQNG 570 AM), and O`ahu (KHVH 830 AM), as well as on the Governor's Web site www.hawaii.gov/gov. Listeners are invited to call 808-521-8383 from O`ahu or 888-565-8383 from the Neighbor Islands with questions and comments.
May 11, Governor Lingle will deliver the commencement address at the Chaminade University Spring Commencement Ceremony.
May 12, Governor Lingle will meet with journalists from the Asia-Pacific region who are visiting Hawai`i as part of the Spring 2009 Jefferson Fellowship Program. The Fellowship program provides U.S. and Asia-Pacific journalists with an opportunity to broaden their understanding of Asia-Pacific issues and hold dialogues with professional colleagues and experts at the East-West Center.
May 13, The Governor will deliver the keynote address at the 12th annual Travel Weekly Hawai`i Leadership Forum. The forum will cover issues including key trends shaping the travel industry, the impact of destination marketing, challenges in the airline industry, and the economy.
