May 6, Governor Lingle will discuss state issues on her monthly radio show with host Rick Hamada from 7:05 - 8:00 a.m. HST. Listeners are invited to call 808-521-8383 from O`ahu or 888-565-8383 from the Neighbor Islands with questions and comments. The show can be heard live statewide on O`ahu (KHVH 830 AM), Maui (KAOI 1110 AM), Hilo (KPUA 670 AM), and Kaua`i (KQNG 570 AM).
May 6, Governor Lingle will participate in the dedication of the Senior Residence at Kapolei, a 60-unit affordable rental housing project for seniors. The event will also include a groundbreaking ceremony for the Senior Residence at Kapolei 2, which will add 20 more affordable rental housing units for seniors.
May 7, Governor Lingle will join the University of Hawai`i and the University of Hawai`i Alumni Association in honoring the 2009 recipients of the Distinguished Alumni Award: Dr. Chiyome Fukino (MD '79), director, Hawai`i State Department of Health; Dr. James (MA '69) and Dr. Lois Horton (MA '69), historians and visiting professors in American Studies; Dee Jay Mailer (BS '75, MBA '85), chief executive officer, Kamehameha Schools; and Sabrina McKenna (BA '78, JD '82), lawyer and jurist.
