Public Schedule for the Week of October 6-12, 2008

October 8, Governor Lingle will discuss state issues on her monthly radio show from 7:05 - 8:00 a.m. HST.  Listeners are invited to call 808-521-8383 from O`ahu or 888-565-8383 from the Neighbor Islands with questions and comments.  The show can be heard live statewide on O`ahu (KHVH 830 AM), Maui/Kona (KAOI 1110 AM), Hilo (KPUA 670 AM), and Kaua`i (KQNG 570 AM), as well as on the Governor's Web site www.hawaii.gov/gov.

October 8, Governor Lingle will deliver remarks to open the sixth annual Asia-Pacific Homeland Security Summit and Expo.  This year's conference will focus on fostering partnerships among nations for scientific research for homeland security. The summit is presented by the State of Hawai`i in partnership with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science & Technology Directorate, which is the primary research and development arm of DHS.  Nations represented include Bangladesh, Canada, China, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, and the United States, as well as the U.S. territories of American Samoa, Guam and Puerto Rico.

October 8, Governor Lingle will announce Hawai`i's participation in a national program to provide high school students the opportunity to work on real world engineering challenges that focus on aeronautics and energy usage.

October 10, Governor Lingle will attend the annual fundraiser for the Hawai`i International Dyslexia Association. Governor Lingle and Lt. Governor Aiona have declared October as Dyslexia Awareness Month in Hawai`i.

October 10, The Governor will attend Sacred Hearts Academy's 13th Annual Scholarship Gala.

October 12, Governor Lingle will host a luncheon for the 2008 Little League World Series Champions Waipio Major Little League team.
