Washington Place School Tour Guidelines

  • Washington Place offers school tours for classes at the 4th grade level and above.
  • Students with knowledge about Hawaiian History are preferable.
  • Interested school staff must make tour arrangements at least one month prior to the requested tour date.
  • Teachers must submit a letter of request for a tour of Washington Place to the Curator, Corinne Chun Fujimoto (See address below).  The letter is to outline the purpose of the class’ visit to Washington Place, as well as any details of the class trip.
  • School tours normally take about 30 minutes per tour group.
  • Washington Place does not require an admission fee.  However, donations to the Washington Place Foundation are welcomed.  The Washington Place Foundation assists with the historic research, preservation, and restoration of the home.
  • School staff are responsible to prepare their students with information from the Washington Place brochure (PDF File).
  • Students will be responsible to answer (5) questions asked by a Washington Place docent at the time of their tour.  Questions will be formed from the brochure.
