Governor Releases $75M for Public Schools Statewide

This week, Governor Lingle released $75 million for capital improvements at public schools statewide. The funds were appropriated by the Legislature this past legislative session for building and campus facility improvements, repairs and maintenance at Hawai`i public schools.

Celebrating the achievements of individuals and organizations that have developed innovative solutions to challenges and contributed to the long-term economic well-being of the state, Governor Lingle recognized three recipients of the Governor's Innovation Awards for October.

North Kahana Stream Bridge Project Breaks Ground

The Dept. of Transportation and Kaikor Construction Company, Inc. joined the Kahana community to celebrate the groundbreaking of the North Kahana Stream Bridge Replacement Project. The $13.3 million project will replace the 90-year-old North Kahana Stream Bridge.
