11/20/2008 - Administration Focuses on Tourism
Governor Lingle announced she has secured a personal commitment by China Airlines to retain existing flights to Honolulu, even during the current international economic slowdown.
11/18/2008 - Ocean Energy Partnership Established
During the Governor's official state visit to Taiwan, the Taiwan Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and Lockheed Martin Corporation agreed to develop a 10 megawatt (MW) Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) pilot plant in Hawai`i.

Governor Lingle's first day in Taiwan established scientific collaboration to promote science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education, as well as opportunities for new business and renewable energy relationships and visitor industry promotion.
11/14/2008 - Hawai`i Receives National Assistance for Energy Efficiency
Recognizing the success of the Hawai`i Clean Energy Initiative, the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices announced it has selected the State of Hawai`i to participate in its Policy Academy on Advanced Energy Strategies for Buildings.
11/13/2008 - Building Partnerships in Asia
To promote tourism and create jobs in the visitor industry and other related sectors - a highlight of the administration's five-point plan - Governor Lingle and Lt. Governor Aiona are traveling to key markets in Asia this week, including Indonesia, Taiwan, China, Japan and the Republic of Korea.

Joined by U.S. Mint Director Ed Moy and members of the Hawai`i Commemorative Quarter Advisory Commission, Governor Lingle launched the Hawai`i commemorative quarter into circulation.
