GOVERNOR LINGLE RELEASES $400,000 FOR McCULLY-MO`ILI`ILI PUBLIC LIBRARY

For Immediate Release:  February 29, 2008

HONOLULU – Governor Linda Lingle has released $400,000 in design and construction funds to replace the air-conditioning chiller and chilled water pump at McCully-Mo‘ili‘ili Public Library and complete related site, infrastructure and building improvements.

The current 15-year-old air-conditioning system is inefficient and requires frequent repairs. The new system will provide improved energy efficiency and help to reduce the library’s operating costs.

“A fully functional air-conditioning system is essential to the comfort of library patrons and staff,” said Governor Lingle. “The improvements at McCully-Mo‘ili‘ili Public Library will ensure an environment that is conducive to learning and working, and that is suitable for the preservation of books and other resource materials.”

Design is scheduled to begin in March 2008 and be completed in August 2008. Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2009 and be completed in August 2009.
