GOVERNOR'S COUNCIL OF NEIGHBOR ISLAND ADVISORS FOR MAUI TO RECEIVE UPDATE ON KAHULUI AIRPORT MODERNIZATION

WAILUKU – The Governor’s Council of Neighbor Island Advisors for Maui will meet on Thursday, Oct. 15, 5:00 p.m. at the Kihei Community Center Community Center, Main Hall. The public is invited to attend.

Jeff Chang, engineering program manager for the Department of Transportation’s Airports Division, will speak on the status of projects at Kahului Airport as part of the State’s Airports Modernization Plan, as well as provide an update on the Airport Master Plan for Kahului Airport.  Questions and answers will follow as time permits.

Governor Linda Lingle created Councils of Neighbor Island Advisors to give neighbor island residents a stronger voice in state government. The Governor’s Council of Neighbor Island Advisors for Maui will hold monthly public meetings to seek community input, advise the Governor of important issues and make recommendations for state boards and commissions.

The members of the Governor’s Council of Neighbor Island Advisors for Maui are: Madge Schaefer (chair), Kathryn Ghean, John Henry, Carl Lindquist, Lori Ululani Sablas, Gail K. Takeuchi and Leona Rocha Wilson.
