In addition to Honolulu International Airport, the military operated airports at Barbers Point (NAS), Wheeler (AFB) and Mokapu (MCAS).

- Two plaques were unveiled at Wheeler Air Force Base ceremony commemorating 50 Years of flight in Hawaii, August 19, 1977. The plaques honored the Maitland-Hegenberger and Dole Derby flights from Oakland, California to Wheeler Field. Claire Engle, Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii, congratulates Col. Charles Dolan, last living pilot of the Lafayette Escadrille; Wheeler Brig. Gen. William G. MacLaren; 1st Lt. Gene Tigne, and Hawaii DOT Director Adm (ret) Alvey Wright.
