HDOA Furlough Information
Due to the fiscal crisis affecting the State, HDOA will be on a furlough schedule beginning October 23, 2009. This link will have the most current information on any modifications to operations.
Most Hawaii Department of Agriculture offices will follow this schedule:
RABIES QUARANTINE operations will maintain normal
hours of operations by staggering staff furlough days. Pets
arriving at Honolulu International Airport will be received as
usual. Hours of operation will remain from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
until December 1, 2009.
Effective December 1, 2009 inspection hours for dog and cats at Honolulu International Airport (HNL) will be between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily, including weekends and holidays. The Airport Animal Quarantine Holding Facility at HIA will continue to accept pets arriving from airlines at all times of the day. The reduced hours are for inspection operations and airport release.

PLANT QUARANTINE operations will maintain normal hours of operations by staggering staff furlough days. While the hours of operation will not change, staffing will be at lower levels which may result in delays in inspections.
