Type and Availability of Information

HAS data relates to farm production, acreage, farm prices and value and related statistics for a wide array of commodities for a given period, a definite contrast to the current market information provided by the Market Analysis and News branch.

The frequency of the reports varies from a weekly report of weather and general crop conditions, to monthly vegetable, fruit and livestock reports, to quarterly taro millings, to annual livestock inventories, crop production and flowers and nursery products. HAS frequently includes in their reports information from other sources such as the Economic Research Service that describe conditions, situations and outlook for U.S. and World agriculture when it impacts Hawai`i farmers.
