HDOA Wins Award for Expo Display

The Hawaii Department of Agriculture (HDOA) won a second place award for Booth Space Exhibit Design in the Multiple Exhibit Design category at the Hawai`i Lodging, Hospitality, and Foodservice Expo, held at the Neal Blaisdell Center on July 13 -14, 2011. 

In order to comply with the multiple exhibit design category, an exhibitor must have at least two standard 8’x10’ booths or 10’x10’ booths. HDOA purchased two booths this year, featuring Malie Kai Chocolate, Paradise Meadows Coffee, and Big Island Abalone.  A second place win in this category includes a $350 discount off the cost of booth space in the 2012 Expo.  Booths are judged on the following criteria:

1. Coordination and integration of the exhibitor’s products and services with the exhibitor’s overall design concept or theme.
2. Use of color, graphics, furnishings and decorations including multi-media or live demonstrations to reinforce the exhibitor’s sales & marketing objectives.
3. Effectiveness, attitude, knowledge and professionalism of booth personnel.
4. Compliance to all booth design and operation rules for the Expo.

The first place winner this year for this category was Y. Hata & Co., Limited and the third place winner was Hawaiian Paradise Coffee.  HDOA won first place in the Multiple Exhibit Design category in 2008 and won first place in the Single Exhibit Design category in 2007.

Launched in 1995 by Douglas Trade Shows, the Expo has become the largest trade show in the State with more than 540 booths and more than 5,000 attendees from the lodging, hospitality, and foodservice industry.
