GOOD MORNING FROM HAU`ULA!!! KITV's Mahealani Richardson made an early call with Hau`ula farmer Terry Shintaku who grows tasty hydroponic tomatoes. The live segments at the farm showed how these special tomatoes are grown without soil.

Hau`ula Tomatoes Bruchetta Recipe by Cindy Shintaku

loaf French bread – sliced open Thinly sliced Hau`ula tomatoes ½ - 1 cup grated Parmesan or feta cheese Olive oil Spread mayonnaise over bread. Sprinkle bread with green onion, parsley or your favorite herbs. Cover bread with tomatoes. Sprinkle cheese over tomatoes. Broil in oven for 5 – 10 minutes or until golden. Remove from oven and cut into strips. Drizzle with a mixture of olive oil and balsamic
vinegar. |
