July 2009
Happy cows make good milk and the small herd at the Naked Cow Dairy in Waianae are providing the freshest tasting butters, cream cheese and feta cheese that you can find in the state.
The KITV Morning Show crew came to Oahu's only dairy farm located deep in Lualualei Valley in Waianae for July's Buy Fresh, Buy Local segment!

Monique Van der Stroom and her sister, Sabrina St. Martin, are a perfect team running the dairy. A native of Arizona, Monique studied dairy sciences in college and came to Hawai`i about 20 years ago and worked on various dairy farms. She managed the large-scale Pacific Dairy until 2007, when the dairy closed. She decided then to establish Naked Cow Dairy, a boutique dairy, specializing in fresh milk and milk products.
Sabrina had been living in New Orleans until Hurricane Katrina hit. Monique invited her out to Hawaii to help establish the dairy. A culinary specialist by trade, Sabrina concentrated on developing the delicious food products they sell at farmers' markets around town.
