The Big Island is the only island that has island-fresh milk. Look for the Island Fresh symbol on Mountain Apple Brand milk at KTA Superstores. Cloverleaf Dairy is one of only two dairies operating in Hawaii. Located in Hawi on the northern end of Hawaii Island, the dairy has about 670 dairy cows, which are milked twice a day. Ed Boteilho is a third generation dairy farmer whose motto is: "Take care of the cows, and they will take care of us." The Boteilho family takes much pride in being able to supply island keiki with fresh milk, which is served in the school lunch program and also marketed through the Mountain Apple Brand. |
