Founded in September 2004, Kamauoha Farms is a project of the Kamauoha Foundation, a Native Hawaiian nonprofit committed to providing opportunities to disadvantaged Hawaiian families. The Kamauoha Farms project employs over 15 Native Hawaiians and serves 70 community noni farmers on Oahu and the Big Island.

The project’s facilities include a 90-acre farm and food processing plant on Oahu’s North Shore. Its primary crop is noni, used traditionally by Hawaiian healers as a remedy, and is grown with great care, from the planting of the seeds to delivery to the customer.

“Hawaii’s pristine environment and rich volcanic soil produces a quality of noni unmatched anywhere else in the world,” says Donald Saaga, sales manager.

“North Shore Noni is uniquely grown and produced in Hawai`i by Native Hawaiians with a desire to share the health benefits of noni, an ancient traditional Hawaiian medicine,” says Spencer Kamauoha, general manager. According to the company, the farm’s operations are guided by the belief that the best quality products are produced through respect and love for the aina (land).    

 Sold under the brand name North Shore Noni, Kamauoha’s noni juice is pressed fresh from sun-ripened noni to ensure optimal potency. Organic noni juice also is available. Other products include noni fruit capsules, noni leaf capsules, noni lotion and noni soap. In 2006, the project created a new line of dehydrated foods, starting with Hawaiian dried pineapple. No sugar or preservatives are added, because Kamauoha’s philosophy is for all its products to be 100 percent pure and natural — free from harmful additives.
