Founded in 1998, Twin Bridge Farms is a 250-acre operation in Waialua that produces fresh asparagus all year round. “Our asparagus is in the market hours after harvest,” says Milton Agader. “Quality is our first priority in everything that we do.”

The company pays close attention to post harvest handling and ensures that its products arrive in the marketplace as quickly as possible. However, it does more contract farming for seed companies than growing for market.

Twin Bridge Farms is part of a group of farmers who took over the land after Waialua Sugar shut down in the mid-1990s. The company is one of many that have turned to diversified agriculture on the North Shore. Asparagus is a relatively low maintenance crop and has few problems with disease or pests. As a specialty crop, it is in high demand by local restaurants and gourmet shops.

Twin Bridge Farms’ asparagus can be found at select retail markets and restaurants, as well as the Waialua open market on Saturdays and Agader family-owned The Brown Bottle liquor store in Waialua.
