Bison and Elk:

• Requires a permit in advance, from the Chief Plant Inspector, Department of Agriculture, 1849 Auiki Street, Honolulu, Hawaii, 96819. Call (808) 832-0566 for information.
• For disease control entry requirements, contact the Hawaii Department of Agriculture's State Veterinarian's Office at (808) 483-7100.

Rabbits:

• Require a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI), also known as a health certificate, that must be signed by a State, Federal, or accredited veterinarian.
• The CVI must be seven or fewer days old, list and give a description of the rabbit(s) in the shipment, must state that the rabbit(s) were not showing signs of infectious, contagious and/or communicable diseases and were found free of external parasites.
• Rabbits are allowed to enter the State only through the Honolulu International Airport where they are required to be submitted by an agent of the airline to the Airport Animal Quarantine Holding Facility for inspection.  Hours of inspection are 7:45am – 4:30pm.
• Once inspection is complete and all entry requirements have been met, the rabbits may be released to the importer.

Llamas and Alpacas:

• Requires a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) that must be signed by a State, Federal, or accredited veterinarian.
• The CVI must be seven or fewer days old and must state that all requirements have been fulfilled and include statement: Free of external parasites.
• Required to meet the same entry requirements as cattle, except for anaplasmosis testing.
