1.            Summary of testimony submitted during public hearings during the week of October 21 to October 28, 2008, and request for (1) Repeal of Chapter 4-87, Hawaii Administrative Rules, entitled “VOLUNTARY REGISTRATION OF SERVICE PERSONS OR SERVICE AGENCIES” and (2) Adoption of Chapter 4-87, Hawaii Administrative Rules, entitled “VOLUNTARY REGISTRATION OF SERVICE PERSONS.”

2.      Summary of testimony submitted during public hearings held during the week of October 21 to October 28, 2008, and request for (1)   Repeal of Chapter 4-96, Hawaii Administrative Rules, entitled “SCHEDULE AND FEES FOR LICENSING DEVICES SUSCEPTIBLE OF COMMERCIAL USAGE, AND MEASURING DEVICES AND MEASUREMENT STANDARDS FOR TESTING OR CERTIFICATION” and (2) Adoption of Chapter 4-96, Hawaii Administrative Rules, entitled “SCHEDULE AND FEES FOR LICENSING DEVICES SUSCEPTIBLE OF COMMERCIAL USAGE, AND MEASURING DEVICES AND MEASUREMENT STANDARDS FOR TESTING OR CERFIFICATION.”

                                 Action:  Agenda items 1 and 2 were approved.

B.                 PLANT INDUSTRY DIVISION

1.      Request to:  (1) Transfer Possession of a Virus, Dengue Virus, on the List of Restricted Microorganisms (Part A), for Laboratory Research, Between Researchers Within the University of Hawaii; and (2) Establish Permit Conditions for the Possession of a Virus, Dengue Virus, on the List of Restricted Microorganisms (Part A), for Laboratory Research, by the University of Hawaii.

                                 Action:  Approved

V.         Legal Counsel Update regarding Implementation of Chapter 343, HRS, (Hawaii Environmental Protection Act) Requirements in Chapter 150A, HRS, Process for Import of Plants, Non-Domestic Animals, and Microorganisms
