Long Thorn Kiawe [Prosopis juliflora (Sw.) DC]

Control efforts continued on Kauai and Oahu to remove long thorn kiawe (LTK) from shoreline areas.  The work on Kauai was a cooperative effort with the Kauai Invasive Species Committee and the U.S. Navy’s Pacific Missile Range Facility.

On Oahu, responsible agencies such as Hawaii Department of Transportation – Harbors Division and the University of Hawaii have cleared LTK from properties which fall under their management.
