Educational Tours
Educational tours are available at the Hawaii Department of Agriculture’s Plant Quarantine Office, located in Honolulu at 1849 Auiki Street. The tour consists of an overview of the Plant Quarantine’s biosecurity program and a “show and tell” of some types of invasive species that this Branch has come across. Live and preserved specimens are shown as part of the tour. The theme focuses on the need to protect Hawaii’s agriculture, environment, natural resources, and protecting the safety of humans and animals against invasive pests.
Tours are conducted by the Educational Specialist or other staff during regular business hours by appointment only. Priority is given to organizations emphasizing related topics to Hawaii Department of Agriculture or environmental issues. Morning appointments are preferred. Please call (808) 832-0566 for more information.
