Chevron USA Ordered to Pay Penalty for Hazardous Waste Violations

HONOLULU - The Department of Health (DOH) has filed a complaint and order against Chevron USA Products Company, Port Allen Terminal (Chevron) alleging violations of the state's hazardous waste rules. Chevron faces a penalty of $22,500.

Chevron is a generator of hazardous waste and was inspected on or around September 5, 2002. DOH cited Chevron for the improper maintenance and operation of the facility and disposal of hazardous waste without a permit.

In addition to paying the penalty, Chevron has been ordered to comply with State hazardous waste and used oil rules for the cited violations according to a schedule established by the State.

Chevron has twenty days to respond to the order.
