HONOLULU – Health professionals from Hawai`i and the
mainland will have a chance today to receive the latest women’s
health information at the Women’s Health Symposium held in
Waikiki. The Hawai`i State Department of Health, Family Planning
Program is co-sponsoring the event with the American College of
Nursing-Midwives and the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in
Women’s Health.
Clinical professionals from local and national health organizations
will present on a variety of subjects including new contraceptive
options, mood disorders, hot topics in pregnancy and Human
Papillomavirus (HPV). This is the third Joint Symposium held in Hawai`i
and participants will walk away with the latest information regarding
women’s health issues including pregnancy prevention, menopause
management and the treatment and prevention of gynecological infection.
Local experts in their field, Dr. Lori Kamemoto, OB-GYN; Dr. Richard
Wasnich, osteoporosis; Dr. Michele Aspera, urology; and Dr. Paul
Pearsall, psychology; will be featured.
The conference begins on Wednesday, February 11th at 1:00
p.m. at the Sheraton Waikiki Beach Hotel and continues until Friday,
